FA module to handle quantity > 1

Good day Folks

I'm wondering if someone has a suggestion on how to use the Fixed Assets module where the qty is perhaps in the thousands?   An example would be an installation at a site of about 25000 super market trolleys.  The asset would then have a partial retirement as damaged goods are returned and scrapped.

I would think that this could be an extensive customisation as the qty for an FA would be affected all over the system.

Your input would be appreciated please.

Thank you

Also keep in mind that you can split an assets value which will help with the accounting when you scrap. The issue is keeping track of the remaining quantity. I have seen users setup an item for the 25000 units with zero cost to track quantity and setup the asset for cost and depreciation. Using the two things (item and fixed asset) does the work but it's a little bit manual because you have to enter an item everything you adjust the fixed asset. No customization though.

Hi, I agree with the two experts above, this requires detailed communication with your Partner.

For fixed assets, it is generally necessary to enter each FA.

    A hypothetical solution:

Add a quantity field to the Fixed Asset Card, modify the current quantity during maintenance, and record it in Maintenance Ledger Entries.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.

Check out gbedv’s OPplus, they have a module for finance and FA.

That could be what you need, have a look at it with your partner

I suggest working with your Microsoft partner to determine a design that works for your business requirements. The short brief will most likely result in assumptions.
