Hi, notes were removed from the Lead form as they weren't needed. However we now need to put them back into the form. I've tried adding a new section on the form and then looking for a sub grid of notes to add back but can't find it. Am I doing something wrong. Can anyone tell me how I can get notes back in the form? many thanks

    Victoria,

If you see you got the Notes control when you created a new Entity. There is a check box under Colloboration & Communication called "Notes (Including attachments) with + symbol saying that once you add this you cannot undo. So that said, you are safe in saying that you can add Notes again to any form you create for this entity.

    1. Open the form in Edit mode.

    2. Click on the Insert  tab, and you will see a "Notes", in "Control" section, near "IFrame" and "Web Resource".

This will add the Notes control back on the form. If you are not seeing this you need to create the Entity with the Notes feature enabled.

    Hope this helps.

I am having a similar issue with the opportunities entity.  i inadvertently removed it from the main default solution and need to add it back for a subset of users; however i cannot get the Notes Control to actually insert.  It says this button is currently disabled.  you may not have selected the feature which works with this item.  A new form of this type has the Notes control and this form had it previously, but i don't seem to be able to select a context for this Notes field to actually be enabled.

    thanks!

Just so that I understant your issue. You removed the Notes control from one of the Main form for Opportunity entity. Now you are wanting to add it back.

    1. after making Opportunity again available in a solution, did you enable Notes from Infoamtion screen for Opportunity?

Without enabling Notes, your Notes control will not be available. Again if you see this is a special relationship withn CRM. You can create a new CRM 2011 Org and see how it is setup.

    Hope this helps.

Yes, that is the issue.  The opportunity entity is simply the default entity (I renamed to pipeline, but it is the same entity) and when i look at the General Tab under the Opportunity entity, the Notes, activities, connections, and mail merge are checked and greyed out. It looks exactly like the pic you attached.  (see below).  For some reason, the notes icon will simply not become active.

    Hi,

I've added Notes control on form as you wrote, but it is too large. It takes like whole screen. Is there any possibility to make it shorter?

    Thank you
