CRM 3

Hi,

I have a client using CRM 3 (really old) and can't get the outlook plugin to install.  The laptop was used before for an old employee and that did work with CRM and outlook.  They have set up a new user on the laptop and installed his email outlook.  The laptop is windows 7 and the browser is IE 10.  When you install the client software for crm it runs through to the system requirements section and then throws up following error - "An incompatibile version of the Microsoft crm desktop client for Outlook or the Microsoft crm laptop client for outlook is already installed on this computer: Product version 3.0.5300.1361, User:domainname\username.  Before continuing the current installation remove the incompatible verison"

I can't find any crm info in add remove programs.  I'm not even sure if the client software is correct.  Can anyone point me in the right direction or help with this.  Kind regards

Martin

Tried deleting registry files but they won't delete.

I wonder if I log on as the old user (no longer an employee) will I be able to remove CRM that way?

Can I post screenshots on this forum?

    thanks

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

Yes there is a Laptop Client available. Keep in mind CRM3 client is an installation & configuration in one.

So when you install, it is also directly configured.

    Good luck,

Thanks for your suggestions guys, I will go back to the client and see what I can do.  Cheers Martin.  By the way is there a laptop version of outlook client for CRM 3?  A colleague of mine says there is.

In the add/remove programs grid try to find "outlook connector".

    Hi,

CRM3.0 is not supported on the laptop as you mentioned.

CRM3.0 works with IE7, all above is a no go. Sorry.

My best guess; use an old machine with Windows XP (unsupported) and IE7 and Office 2007.

    Otherwise you're out of luck.

Otherwise try to get your customer to upgrade to CRM4,CRM2011, CRM2013... But I guess that's out of scope :)
