Hello,
Is there a way to mass change a customer class for a group of customers?

Kendra,
You can run Update statement on RM00101 for Customer Class. Customer Class will update only updated information from Class Master to all Existing Customer, that means If you update customer with Update Statment , Open your Customer Class Maintenance window, change value "Credit Limit" and save it will ask to rollup for all existing customer and this way you can update all existing Customers "Credit Limit" in short it won't update all information to customers only field you changed it in Class it will update.
Here I try to document about class :- http://sandipdjadhav.blogspot.com/2009/09/dynamics-gp-class-behavior.html
Hope above solutions will help you.
Thanks
Sandip
Hi Kendra,
I'm just making sure I understand the question. You do not want to roll down changes to customers in a certain customer class, you have several customers who may be in different classes to change to a specific class.
Do you want the customer to inherit the settings of the new customer class? You can use Integration Manager to update existing customers and change their class as part of the import.
There is no way that I know of to using the GP interface to select a group of customers and then initiate a class change.
As Sandpip noted, you can use SQL to just change the field Customer Class on the item master table, but it will not automatically roll down the current customer class settings to each customer.
Is this the question?
Kind regards,
Leslie
Thank You! This answered my question.
Hi Leslie,
I would like to do just what you are describing, which is assign a Customer Class to a list of Customers and have all Customer Class settings roll-down to those Customers. You say this is possible through Integration Manager. Any specific examples/steps you can provide to accomplish what I need?
Thank you,
Kelsey.
Just wanted to let you know I was able to figure out the resolution. A simple integration to the Customer in GP. I had a source file that had the Customer ID in one column and the to-be-assigned Customer Class in the second column. I configured my Destination Mapping to reference these source fields and all worked well.
Thanks!
