Getting error "Your changes have not been saved. To stay on the page so that you can save your changes, click Cancel." on Save & Close button

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

We have upgraded the MS CRM Organization from 2011 to 365 On-Premise and disable using auto Save, when user click's on the Save & Close button for any entity after editing fields it always show the message "Your changes have not been saved. To stay on the page so that you can save your changes, click Cancel." It doesn't matter if user click on OK or Cancel it always saves the edited data. This prompt is really annoying for the users.

We even tried to disable all scripts written on OnSave of the form but still it shows same prompt always.

Please advise if there is any solution for this issue.

Thank you,

Bhausaheb Patil.

    Hi partner,

If it is a pure environment, this problem will not occur. I also met this issue with wrong JS code.

Please clear your cookies and try again. You could use F12 development tools to check if all the scripts are disabled while there may be a delay.

If you still have this issue, I recommend you to raise a ticket to Microsoft Team for remote assistance.

    Hope it helps.

    Best Regards

    Leo

    Hi,

CRM 365 behavior is very different with CRM 2011. When you save data and the plugin trigger. CRM will send all the changes into form and trigger on change event. That's why when you have method that have changes to another attribute. This attribute will be trigger and make your from 'unsaved changes'.

You need to learn the behavior first for to know how to solve it. My suggestion is you can put console.log in every method to know its behavior. If you want to quick fix. Turn on legacy form first. But still you need to figure out how to solve this issue because CRM will remove legacy form also in the future.
