Hi Everyone

I have a transaction that is quite strange - see the following example
My LCY is ZAR
I captured a purchase invoice for a vendor for 100USD on the 2nd of Jan - the exchange rate was 18.81 for that day. The invoice was sent for approval on the 22nd of Jan (the exchange rate on this day was 19.01), the invoice was approved and posted - the posting date was kept as 2nd of Jan.
However my ledger entries showed an amount1901ZAR

Why did the transaction not use the exchange rate for the 2nd of Jan which should have then be 1881ZAR?

What date was your invoiced paid/closed? Was it January 22 by any chance? When you pay and close an invoice the system revalues it to the exchange rate of the closing date.

The effective exchange rate at the time of posting may be only 19.01.

You can confirm the exchange rate before and after posting using the Currency Factor field.
