Upgrade help

 Started the upgrade process of our GP9, everything looked successful, required reboot and now when lauching GP the GP Utilities comes up saying "to proceed GP database needs to be updated, Others are currently using GP. You cannot update tables while anyone is using GP"

No users are connected, i am forced to log into GP utilities using 'sa', however no one else is using program

Need help ASAP

    The first thing I would do is check the activity file. Open query analyser and run the following:

    SELECT * FROM DYNAMICS..ACTIVITY

    If you get any results from this, verify that everyone is actually out of GP and run the following query:

    DELETE DYNAMICS..ACTIVITY

    Also a good idea to clear out the SY00800 and 801 tables while ou are at it...as follows:

    DELETE DYNAMICS..SY00800

    DELETE DYNAMICS..SY00801

    Try the above if you haven't already done so and see where it gets you.

    We are facing same issue after patching GP 10 to upgrade it. .we have deleted the entries in the mentioned tables but issue still persist. Can you please suggest what we can do here to resolve the issue.

    You could also make sure these tables are clear

    delete tempdb..dex_lock

    delete tempdb..dex_session

    I doubt this will help as Ian is correct. Make sure all these tables are clear before launching GP Utilities. Also make sure your DSN is pointing to the correct instance of GP.
