Are there eConnect routines that would allow you to emulate the Select Checks routines in GP 2016? I am looking to populate the Payables Computer Check Work Tables.

Nope, none that I know of. However, you could check Node Builder from eOne as they allow you to extend eConnect nodes and build your owns.
I had checked with eOne and they do not have any mappings for this so I will create my own routines.
What I am suggesting however is that you use Node Builder to create the nodes so your stored procs could be embedded as part of the whole eConnect experience.

The integration for which econnect node is not available, is possible through VKonnact by executing custom SQL Store Procedure.
e.g. we have done similar for "AP APPLY" integration.
