Setting Up Alerts

We would like to set up alerts/emails that are triggered and sent to a product manager automatically upon one of our sales people creating a lead in a contact.  Is this possible?  If so, how?  We read the tutorial and do not have an "Alert Settings" button from which to choose, as indicated in the tutorial.

    Hello ToddG,

    I think that a simple custom workflows is enough to satisfy your business need. You'll have to customize your CRM solution and add a custom workflow. Trigger the workflow on the creation of a lead (after creation) and maybe also on the edit of the contact Lookup. On the process panel, send an email to the corresponding manager (parent contact whom you have referenced in your lead).

    Rafael,  Thanks so much.  I have found all of that and have set it up, but when testing, the contact record shows that the email was generated, but is "Pending Send".  It's getting stuck somewhere.  Could that be a network issue or is there some other setting that may not be allowing the message to run its course through the workflow?  Any ideas?

    Hi ToddG,

    Did you configured sending email for your organization? Emails in CRM can be handled by Server Side Sync, Email Router or Outlook client so you need to configure one of this options to be able to send emails from CRM. Until you do that, all emails that you send will be "Pending Send". Here are some guidelines how to configure SSS or Email Router (for Outlook you just need Outlook add-in)

    Hi Todd,

    Are you still looking for this feature? I can recommend a 3rd party CTI solution that has this same kind of feature and they integrate CRM applications like MS Dynamics to over 150 phone systems. They also offer other features such as real time anayltics, call pop ups, automatic call logging and a few more. You can check them out on this www.tenfold.com/.../dynamics
