Advanced find - searching for specific products

I'm trying to pull up the charge for a specific product within an invoice through advanced finds and struggling with it.  If you want the details...

I'm working in CRM 3.0 and trying to use an advanced find to calculate our department's donation record for the past month.  Our donors can send in a contribution whenever they like or they can include it during their membership renewal process.  I'm having no trouble identifying the contribution amounts for anyone who donates on their own.  What I am struggling with is the second category because the payments from those individuals are all entered into one invoice.  Our donation is specified as a product within that invoice.  When I do an advanced find, I can identify those individuals with the specific product in the invoice, but the amount that pulls up is the entire payment for the invoice, not for the specific product.  Is there some way I can pull up the payment for the product?

I hope that wasn't too confusing.  Thanks!

    Hi Daozhong

let me have a go at this, you need to select the account or contact in advanced fine then look at the related fields for product or invoice.  You may have to go product first and then look for therelated invoice or select the invoice and then look for the related product, unfortunatly I dont have CRM 3.0 here and CRM is a bit more advanced.

Set the value for the product and the type of customer and this will return the related customers.  You can also try this from the invoice angle and work back but what you will not get is theextra columns from multiple entities and I think this is what you are trying to do, so the other option is to have a report developed so it can return the exact data.  CRM 4.0 is slightly better fr this as you can return mulitple related values via the advanced find.

If you do decided you need to go down the report route and need help let me know maybe we cna do the work remotly
