Implementation without Finance?

Hi all, 

Is SCM a standalone product or does it require the finance app?

We purchased Project Operations and SCM as these appear to have everything we need, but I'm unable to figure out how to setup/access SCM. 
Very new to dynamics.

    Hi,

    In Dynamics SCM has multiple modules:

    1. Product information management

    2. Procurement and sourcing

    3. Sales and Marketing

    4. Inventory management

    5. Warehouse Management

    6. Transportation management

    and few more .

    Now along with these you should also have access to System Admin and Organization admin

    Now to start with you first ned to create Legal entity in organization admin and then start configuration in each module.

    Hi RlachmanIRN,

    In addition to the reply from Saurabh, you can use SCM stand-alone from Finance. It requires some basic Finance setup as it will generate accounting entries when posting product receipts, packing slips, invoices, etc.

    Apart from this, you would need to think how to integrate SCM with another accounting application.

    Hi,

    Just to add, you'll need to take note that some functions in SCM requires finance license. Take the Sales Invoice function as an example. To use the function to generate a sales invoice requires a finance license. Same goes to the PO AP invoicing function. Without the Finance license, you probably will have some issue with using this functions.
