Custom report is empty after running

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 370

Hello,

Currently I'm struggling with custom created report. My boss and I have highest privileges, as administrators. I've shared custom report to my co-worker, who have permission to read all reports, and reported entity.

I checked it with my boss and he was able to run that report. When my co-worker tries to run it, she received empty report. What is important, she was able to modify query (like change from 2 to 4 weeks) but still nothing happened. There also wasn't this loading green circle, which appears during generation.

I'm pretty sure, that problem involves security role. So there's my question: which privileges should be set, to let her run report and receive some results?

This particular report was set private and global. Nothing happened.

I've also checked it with another co-worker, who even has lower privileges than her. Guess what? He can run that cursed report :D

Any ideas?

Best regards,

BB.

    Hi Bartek,

Just out of interest if you give her admin privilidges can they run the report

Does the report have any criteria to only bring back records owned by the person running the report?

    Hello Mark,

Actually I've set her same privilidges, like co-worker's with lowest who was able to run that report. Also nothing happened :)

On Monday I'll check with admin's permissions.

This report should return every mail with particular word in topic. She has read/write access to every record in e-mail entity and also can read all users. So it should be easy, isn't it?

    Best regards,

    BB

    Hi Bartek,

As you say the user are getting empty report, you could do a check that, write an expression in you custom report to print some text say “No data to load” if your dataset return 0 rows. This will ensure that report is successfully loading.

After that to troubleshoot an issue, deploy the report with simple query say print report with email activities created by current logged in user in today etc.

Also there might be problem with privileges on entities that comes in the regarding of email activities.

    Thanks!
    Sam

    Hello,

    You will be very mad...

What happened? My co-worker has a lot of stuff in cache, which was damaging somehow her browser.

    Reboot solved problem :)

I'm sorry for bothering you, and I'm grateful for your help,

    Topic should be closed :)

    Best regards,

    BB
