1096 question - box checked

We've printed our 1099's and 1096 summary page.  We noticed a problem with the 1096 summary page showing the incorrect box checked - it's showing "Interest" instead of "Miscellaneous".  How can we correct this?

    Go back to the Print 1099 window, under Purchasing > Routines. Change the option to Miscellaneous and choose the 1096 radio button. Click the print button.

    Hi Pam,

    I remember we had a problem with this last year. First, check and see if you are printing a modified 1096 report. If you are, I would switch the security back to the regular report. If you modified the report previously, the layout doesn't change to an updated version. I will always start with fresh unmodified reports for the information reporting documents.  If you don't have another Form 1096, I suppose you could white-out the existing check box and then check the correct box with an ink pen.

    If you do have an extra 1096, then you can open it in Report Writer an move the mark so it checks the correct box.
