Relationship between Campaign Response and Leads

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I want to create workflow for Campaign Response entity. When a new record created, system will execute below steps :

if response code = interested

then set (related) Lead status = qualify

Is it possible to do that? Because in practice, the entity option to set status just for campaign and recurring appointment.

I thought, since we can add customer (select Leads) in campaign response, so there is a relationship between those two

RE: Relationship between Campaign Response and Leads

    Hi

The process which is described in the replies here is incorrect. Workflow works on change of primary entity (in your case lead), you cannot create a workflow on lead and trigger it on change of campaign response.

Yes, there is a relationship between Lead & Campaign response but its with an activity party list called 'customer' which can include Accounts/Contacts/Leads thats why you are not able to directly change the status.

    Solution:

Go to settings>>Customization>>customize the system>>entity>>campaign response>>fields>>create new field 'lead' of lookup type lead>> place this on the form>>save and publish

Now create a workflow as shown in the following screenshot and trigger it on create & field change

Assumption: You are using only phone calls & emails as campaign activities; if you are using more activities then add steps accordingly and if you are using less activities then remove steps accordingly.

Note: After you have created this workflow, go to campaign response form and hide 'lead' field, so, that users cannot change it.

Yup, I already create condition like you said. But it still won't change the status of Lead.

I just need to activate the process right?

You should run the workflow in two conditions.

    1. Record is created

    2. Record Fields Change (Related Campaign Response field changes)

    Then it works perfectly.

    Hi,

In order to achieve this, you could create a workflow for the Lead entity. This workflow should run when the record is created or when the record fields change (Related Campaign Response field changes).

The workflow steps should be as follows:

If Related Campaign Response (Campaign Response) equals Interested, then:

Update  Lead and in Set Properties set Status field as Qualified.

    Refer the screenshots below.

I tried that. But after I create campaign response to tested it, status Lead is not changed.

I think it's because the workflow is start when Lead Record is Created. Not when campaign response is created.
