Only the deployment administrator are able to use deployment manager

 I am moving Dynamics CRM databases and reporting server to new server. 

After making some changes to the registry as per microsoft instructions...When I run the deployment manager, I get this error message

"Only the deployment administrator are able to use deployment manager. You are not a deployment administrator"

 

The account that I am using has full access to CRM 4.0 and can writes to AD. It is a domain administrator account.

 I need urgent help to resolve this problem...

    You'll need to log on to the server with a user account that is a CRM deployment administrator. The user account that installed CRM is a deployment administrator and can promote other users to deployment administrators.

    A CRM deployment administrator is often a CRM system admin, server admin, domain admin or database admin, but not always. Many organizations separate these roles, so your domain admin account may not be sufficient to use the CRM Deployment Manager.

    Thanks.

    I was able to resolve this issue by querying the back-end table  to determine who is a member of the deployment group.

    --Look for users returned with securityroleid of "19CFBC8D-77ED-459E-9909-1BF1CC1B0430"

    -- These users are members of the database deployment group

    select s.securityRoleid, s.systemuserid,u.name

    from dbo.SystemUserRoles s, SystemUser u

    where s.systemuserid=u.id

    I was able to logon to the server with that windows account and add my account via the deployment manager to the members of deployment group.
