Hello,

we are migrating to the cloud and worked with a managed solution of the ckeditor.

Do I still need to import the solution to use ckeditor or is meanwhile a standard of d365?

I read it is also used finances:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365-release-plan/2020wave2/finance-operations/finance-operations-crossapp-capabilities/new-html-editor-control

btw. we dont use it for emails.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello McDauly,

Yes. You need to import these solution in cloud as well. Since, it is a 3rd party solution and would not be present by default in CRM online, and your entities/components at onpremise version would have the dependency to ckeditor which will give missing components error while migration, if not installed.

Either you have to remove the ckeditor from on premise version before migration or you need to have it on cloud as well.

Hope this answer solves your query. If yes, please mark the answer as verified.

    Thanks & Regards,

    CRM Developer

Hello CRM Developer, thanks for the answer. I know that I need the solution because of the dependencies during the primary import of our customizations.

I wanted to ask if in cloud a standard ckeditor is built in because of the linke I found. I could easily resolve the dependencies afterwards and rework the formular and the entitiy...

But It looks like its only for finances. or Am I wrong?

    Hello McDauly,

In Dynamics CE online, a new feature is also introduced where you can implement rich text formatting on multiline text fields.

It can be used for any entities.

I have attached one blog for your reference to understand the process of its implementation in details(kind of straightforward.. nothing complex).
