Location-wise Inventory group posting

Hi,

I need to set up a location-wise inventory posting in our new system Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO.

Our existing system Dynamics 365 business central uses separate groups and posting profiles  for product and inventory.

It allows location-wise inventory posting in different accounts.

How will i achieve the same functionality in Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO?

Please provide a response.

    Hi VSN,

    Can you please provide examples here? Do you want to have a different ledger account per warehouse location? Is doesn't sound logical. Having a different account per item group is more common. Can you elaborate?

    Hi André,

    Thank you so much for the response.

    We are going to migrate from  Dynamics 365 business central to D365 FO. While doing posting setup,I am stuck on certain parts.

    In D365 FO doesn't have a feature like inventory posting groups in a location-wise manner.

    I have mentioned a screenshot for explaining the posting currently happening in Dynamics 365  business central.
    How will I achieve the same setup in D365 FO? My item groups in D365 FO have product groups and inventory groups (AUD, Goods, etc)captured from Dynamics 365  business central.

    I think you need to find what you will be using to represent Location codes in F&O.

    According to some manual I found on the internet, Location code in NAV (Business Central) sounds most like Site in AX (F&O).

    The way you might handle this requirement in F&O is to create a Site for each Location. You can also create a Financial dimension for Site, and use Dimension link functionality. I can't find a help page for F&O, but here is some AX documentation on this topic: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/configure-and-manage-financial-dimension-links-to-sites

    Hi VSN,

    By reading your example, I'm not sure how you are using the Location code today in BC. The difference in setup seems to be an Item code. Are these different Item numbers? Please provide more background information. If it is about a storage location, then there is no setup for this. There are Item posting combinations possible for all items, item groups or per item.
