Hello everyone,

i am doing BC14 Cumulative update from CU 16 to CU23. It is only platform update.

When I try to convert database then I am getting below error 1 and is not able to proceed.

SQL Server is Azure managed instance and I am trying make database single user from within Business Central and using SQL Query but get error 2.

Any suggestion/help is appriciated.

ALTER DATABASE [DatabaseName] SET SINGLE_USER

Error 1:

Error 2:

2287.Error2.jpg

Did you try to set Single user mode manually in SQL?

Do you have admin rights? did you try with Run as admin while opening the CSIDE?

    Mohana thank you for reply.

SQL server is Azure Managed Instance and I do not see "Restrict Access" option. I have also tried using SQL query but it shows error as ALTER DATABASE is not supported on SQL Azure Managed instance.

I have admin rights and run BC as admin and try to convert database but it resulted into error.

    Hello,

Best is to raise a support request with Microsoft technical support via your partner contract.

    Thanks.

We have raised technical support via partner. Below is description and solution we had to adapt.

The limitation is that Azure SQL Managed instance does not allow to change User Mode from Multiuser to Single User.

Cumulative update from CU16 to CU23 requires to convert database. When BC14 conversation script tries to change Single user mode which is not allowed. So, I was getting error.

The solution is that we have taken database backup from Azure SQL Managed instance and restore it to Azure SQL Server and perform conversation.
