Manufacturing Order Start Date in the Year 2003!

Posted on by 124
Hi:

The Unit of Measure for each of my four Work Centers is "Hours".

There are thousands of hours listed in my Routing below, however, the total number of hours is less than 52 weeks.

Yet, when I produce a Firm Planned Production Order, its Start Date is to be back in the year 2003!

This is true no matter whether the components, finished good, or Work Centers are "Backward" or "Manual" Flushing.  Why?

Also, even if I try "Manual" Flushing, Production makes me recalculate the Shop Calendar for my Work Centers to be for many, many years ago.  Again, why?

Thank you!

John

the main issue is to ensure the 2 things below

first ensure the capacity of each work center is correctly setup. You need to ensure the calendar and work shift is correct for the work center.
then you need to ensure the due date of the production order is correct and the qty of produced item is correct. If the capacity of the work center is small and user use backward planning for a big production order. BC will schedule the start date back to the past years.

    John,
Have you established Capacity for your Work/Machine Centers?  On the Work Center list there is a Calculate Work Center Calendar, which uses each Work Center's setup options to create the daily capacity.  Be sure you have calculated the capacity for the given year and into the future.

P.S. The Flushing method has nothing to do with the calculation of when a Production Order will start or finish.

    Best Regards,
