sales lines still appears in item transaction Even after sale order deletion

We have A sales order(Not invoiced ,no any inventory transaction only confirmation) we delete this sales order but sale line still appears in item transaction as ordered , we need also delete sales line from item transaction .

Dear khaled,

Try running consistency check on inventory management module and select items as per screen shot below and use dialog to select the item number.

Dear khaled,

If your environment is an on premises environment you can do something that is not recommended but will definitely solve the issue and needs to be done with extreme caution.

You can delete the corresponding records from the inventtrans and inventtransorigin tables and update the inventsum table.

please be really careful if you go through with this and test on test environment.

Hi Khaled,

Can you tell how you deleted the sales order? Do you have customizations in this environment? If you deleted it from the sales order page, it should also delete the sales order lines and related transactions. If you did it in this way and there is no customization or ISV solution which might impact the standard behavior, I would suggest to log an incident for Microsoft Support.

Hi André;

I have customization but not in sales process , small customize in report, I delete through sales and marketing >Periodic tasks>Clean up>Delete sales orders, we delete un invoiced sales order everyday ,it working probably, but this sales order seem hung or bug in system.

Why : we un invoiced sales order everyday? sales order auto reservation for inventory , for that any un invoiced sales will delete @ end day to back availability for inventory .

Note that : this sales order confirmed, but all other deleted sales order also confirmed and not appear after delete..

Hi Khaled,

I see that this was posted in 2021, but let me try anyways. Did you ever receive any explanation from MS regarding this behavior? I am currently experiencing the same issue, actually for two different customers.

Sales orders are being deleted from the sales order header, but some of the sales order lines still appear as "On order" in the inventory transactions. This happens only sometimes, not all the time, and we have not found any pattern to when it happens. Anyhow, this drives demand in the net requirements, making us think we have to purchase the material to cover the sales order, when the sales order is actually already deleted.
