Duplicate feature to downgrade a license in Security Governance

Hi Everyone,

I’m looking for some guidance on using the Duplicate feature to downgrade a license in Security Governance.

I navigated to Security configuration, selected an existing role, and clicked Duplicate. While I’m prompted to enter a name for the new role as a "Copy", the field that normally displays the Licensing SKU is not appearing.

I’m currently on version 10.0.45. Am I missing a step? If so, please let me know what I am missing and how can I get this Licensing SKU field enabled.

Any assistance would be appreciated. Thank you.

Regards,

Sakina Rizvi

    @Sakini,

When I open that form in Visual Studio (the one in your screenshot with the extra field), I only see a name field in that form and I don't see any code (in the form) that could dynamically add anything else to the form. It appears to be a customization of some sort in your system and it appears to have stopped working. Can you investigate?

Thanks for your reply. Appreciate your reply.

I posted this question on other forums too and got one of the reply that seems to explain why is this field not showing for me.
I was told that to see the expected behaviour, my environment needs to be equal to or later than this release 10.0.45 PQU-4 (Platform 7.0.7690).

    Therefore I have two options:
    1. Manually update my environment to this PQU, or
    2. Wait for Microsoft to deploy PQU-4 automatically to my environment.

Once on this version, the licensing behaviour will work as intended. Posting the reply here for other fellow users too who might be facing a similar issue like me.

    Thanks again.

    Hi Sakina,

I'm too late noticing your question. But indeed, the feature is available when you install the latest quality update. You can read my blog post and one form Alex Meyer for some more thoughts.

Thanks so much for your reply and sharing the links. Appreciate it!

Yes, you are right. The system was on version 10.0.45 and this feature was not available for me. But once I got this updated to version 10.0.46 without the Proactive quality update (PQU), this issue got fixed as 10.0.46 service update came with this new feature and the Licensing SKU started appearing in the duplicate button under security configuration form. I was able to successfully test this feature too.

    Many thanks and regards,
    Sakina Rizvi
