Upgrade Dynamics SL

Hello.  I currently use Dynamics SL 2011.  We are interested in upgrading over the next year.  Do I need to work with a 3rd party reseller to upgrade or can Microsoft Dynamics support team perform/assist me with the upgrade?

    If you have purchased support thru Microsoft, you can probably attempt the upgrade yourself and create Support tickets as needed, but generally speaking, MS will not work directly with customers and I would not recommend this approach.

    However, you do not need to work directly with your reseller either. I have several clients who are associated with certain resellers for specific reasons, but also use other consulting firms and/or independent consultants (such as me) as needed.

    I'd be happy to provide some recommendations for SL consulting, feel free to contact me offline.

    They (being the support team) will probably refer you back to your partner of record as they will not do this under a support  ticket, but may under Professional Services by the hour at a rate close to or more than $200/hr. Each version has unique challenges and I would shy away from doing it yourself unless you have a lot of time and patience, and a big wallet should you encounter problems.

    Your partner/reseller who manages your account should know your environment best. If not, it's time to find  a new partner. We have a lot of experience and a great mix of technical and accounting talent under one roof so let me know if we can be of assistance.
