Update Assortment and Catalog automatically

I have released new products to my online store with Power Automate, but the products are not showing in the Online Store, because they are not in the Assortment and in the Catalog. Is there a way to insert the new products in the Assortment and Catalog with a job? Or do you have another recommendation for publishing new products on the online store?

    Hi Eduardo,

I have not checked this before. Are you able to find data entities for the Assortment and Catalog? If so, you can include the creation of records within your Power Automate flow.

If you add products to your assortment at the category level, any new product released in that category will be picked up automatically when you run the Process assortments batch job. You can also schedule this job to run regularly so the process is fully automated.

If you add individual products to your assortment, you’ll need to use a data entity to insert the newly released product. For this to work, the assortment must be in draft status, not published.

    Hi Eduardo,

In Dynamics 365 Commerce, when releasing new products to the online store via Power Automate, they won’t appear until they are added to both the Assortment and Catalog. To automate this process, here are a few options:

    1. Use a Scheduled Job:

      • You can create a custom batch job or use Commerce Data Exchange (CDX) to automatically update assortments and catalogs.
      • Ensure the job includes logic to add newly released products based on filters (e.g., product category or release date).
    2. Extend Power Automate Flow:

      • Enhance your existing flow to include steps that call the Commerce APIs or trigger a custom connector to update the assortment and catalog.
    3. Manual Sync as a Fallback:

      • If automation isn’t feasible short-term, use the Product Catalog Management workspace to manually add products and run the Catalog Publishing job.

Let me know if you'd like help designing the Power Automate extension or setting up the job!

    Best regards,
    Daniele

    Hi Eduardo,

Without an assortment being assigned to a product or a catalog being defined for the product the Release products won't show up in the Online store. In the online store released products won't appear without the assortment job being run. There is a standard D365 Commerce Retail Assortment job. Run this job after defining the assortments.

In D365 commerce, while setting up released products you need to define the categories for released products. (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/commerce/set-up-retail-products)

Now, that the released products are created, you can add the category through RetailCatalogProductCategoryEntity and assortments you can use RetailAssortmentEntity.

Hope this helps. Happy to answer questions, if any.
