Partial Shipment Allowed in D365 LC

Dear All,

Please can you advise what does Partial Shipment allowed means in D365 On letter of credit.

I used it to allow partial Shipment on sales order and partial Invoicing to be taken from Specific LC but it is not working, my scenario is that i want to have an LC on Sales order but this sales order has many shipments and many invoices, if i use an LC the LC doesn't allow me to choose the Amount to be less than the total Sales Order amount.

appreciate your help.

    Hi MATTGUO,

I mean that when I fetch the Sales Line in the LC, the Total Shipment amount should be equal to the Total Sales order amount, however i want to Partially Invoice the Order so i was trying to fetch half of the Sales order in one shipment, the LC doesn't allow me. It require that all to put more shipment so that it will Equal to the Total Sales Order. I hope this made it Clear.

    Hi Hayan,

You need to create multiple shipments and make the amount equal to order amount. Then choose the partial LC on shipping/invoicing the SO.

    Hi MATTGUO,

I Know I tried this solution, but my question is if there is any other way of doing it and plus what is the benefit of the partial Shipment ( Allowed/ Not Allowed) in Shipment terms, logically it should have a relation with Receiving partially on the Sales Order without assigning  the All Sales Order to shipments.
