Actually, I'm working on business performance analytics in Dynamics 365 Finance to extend dataset. This dataset consists of fact and Dim tables.
Please see below in snapshot:

I'm facing a problem how to add new custom fields withing existing facts, dimensions tables, for that I looked up this below article to extend an existing fact or dim table, but there is no reference of the Plateforme mention on which this activity will be perform and also unable to find any proper material on the internet for these practices mentioned in the MS documentation.

Kindly suggest me solution to achieve this goal.

You can extend the BPA dataset in Dynamics 365 Finance by using Microsoft Fabric. First, enable the “Extend to Fabric” feature to make the BPA tables available in Fabric. Then, you can add your custom fields directly in Fabric, either by modifying existing fact or dimension tables or creating new ones. After that, update your ETL process to load the data into these fields. Once done, refresh BPA so the changes show up in reports.

Thank you for your support—it's truly appreciated!

How I enable the “Extend to Fabric” feature to make the BPA tables available in Fabric. And is any prerequisite for it.
Can I perform these steps to enable “Extend to Fabric” feature:

    Hi there,

Extending existing fact and dimension tables in Business Performance Analytics (BPA) within Dynamics 365 Finance can be a bit tricky, especially since the documentation doesn't always specify the platform or tools clearly.

Here are a few steps to help guide you:

    1. Platform Context:

      • These extensions are typically performed within Data Management Framework (DMF) or Power BI integration layers, depending on how BPA is configured in your environment.
    2. Extending Fact Tables:

      • To add custom fields (measures) to a fact table:
        • Use Visual Studio with the Finance and Operations development environment.
        • Extend the relevant table via a table extension and add your custom fields.
        • Then, update the Aggregate Measurement to include the new fields.
    3. Extending Dimension Tables:

      • Similar to fact tables, use table extensions to add fields.
      • Ensure the dimension is properly linked in the Data Entity and Aggregate Measurement.
    4. Deploy and Refresh:

      • After making changes, deploy the model and refresh the Entity Store so that Power BI or BPA can pick up the new fields.
    5. Documentation Reference:

      • The article you mentioned is a good starting point, but for hands-on steps, refer to:
        • Extending Aggregate Measurements
        • Entity Store and Power BI Integration

Let me know if you need help with the development steps or setting up the environment!

Please verify if this response was helpful.

    Best regards!
