Automatically refresh window using Dexterity?

Anybody know of a way to do this?   I inherited some code that uses a local/timed process group (recurring with delay of x minutes) but the system functions mentioned here:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/850551

are causing GP 2010 to crash.

Currently the recurring process group just runs the 'Sort By' change script to refresh the scrolling window - that part is fine.  I need a reliable way to invoke it every x minutes.

Looking for alternatives.

    I used a scheduled deletable background process that runs at a specified time and when it finishes, reschedules the next run in x minutes time.

    I find this much better than the X minutes approach.
