Account Address Entry Format on General Tab

Before we beign entering account address information in CRM 4.0, does anyone have any suggestions regarding format (e.g., all caps, upper/lowercase, suite numbers, P.O. boxes, etc?). We do plan to use this data for mailings in the future. Thanks in advance if you have any words to the wise:).

    Hi Greg, every country's postal service has their own preferred address format. For example, if you're in the US, then the US Postal Service has some guidelines; in the UK, the Royal Mail has its own. A good start is the Universal Postal Union (http://www.upu.int/).

    Generally, use mixed case (except as otherwise recommended by the postal service) because it's more readable. It's important to get the postal town/city in the Address City field, same for State, Zip and Country, but that's about it. Don't go overboard about where the rest of the address lines go (ie. don't change 'Address Line 1' to 'PO Box', etc. because it'll be too inflexible later when it comes to importing data).Get some data quality guidelines together. These should state how you expect users to enter data. For example, always use the two-letter state code not the full state name or an abbreviation of it (MA, not Massachusetts or Mass.).Have fun.
