"Your session has expired" WHILE I'M TYPING NOTES ON A FORM!! (Online; Not Hosted)

What is with this? People have been complaining about for so long that all I can find are the complaints and no solution. Our employess are in the middle of typing notes after or durring a phone call with a customer and the dam thing logs them out. Log back in and they are are at their dashboard with no way to recover their notes. This is flat out data-loss and Microsoft is responsible for it. On top of that, all the other case windows they have open are gone too and now they've lost track of things they were working on.

I know there are ways around this with the hosted server, but that doesn't help with the online version. When will you fix this and stop costing us time and data?

Try using Google Chrome, I've found that I can keep logged in for several days at a time.

Well I've tried Chrome and still have the same problem. Are you connecting to Microsoft's server or does your company host their own CRM server?

    Hi,

Look for the following registry key on a machine where this issue is occuring,

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\WebClient\Parameters\InternetServerTimeoutInSec

and increase the value, think it defaults to 30, and test again.

    Regards

This parameter (DWORD) specifies the connection timeout for the WebClient service uses when communicating with non-local WebDAV servers. The default value is 30 seconds.

InternetServerTimeoutInSec doesn't sound like it will have any effect when Microsoft's server logs us out after 8 hours or whatever (not 30 seconds). Even if the server checks for activity after 8 hours it isn't watching for 30 seconds; it logs us out while we type.

Can you check your Group policies for IE settings? Is this happening from all the systems, for all the CRM users, from different network?

    Thanks,

    Mohammad

Yep, I checked gpedit and sure enough, I have plenty of IE settings there.

Yes, this is happening on all systems, for all users.

(from a different network???? don't know what you are getting at there)

How about this... instead of random suggestions, can we just wait on Microsoft to step up and finally address the issue?

Why don't we just lay quiet here for a bit and see if anyone can say they don't have this problem when using the online version (that means your company is NOT running their own server).
