You need to add (a) a PV definition, and (b) a stored procedure of the same name.
Have a look in file PVRec.csv (use NotePad, not Excel).
It will show you what PV definitions look like.
You can copy one as a "template" for your one.
Don'r put yours on that file - start your own file of "your PV's", as you may have to re-create your PV after installing service packs etc.,
After creating the PV, you import it with the PV Import function on the SL Admin menu.
The final piece of the puzzle may be quite tricky in a customization.
Should be no problem in a VBTools screen.
You enter your PV's name in the PV property of the screen control.
That property also contains Parameter info - except that you omit "this control" from the parameters - SL supplies that parameter automatically.
As a geberal ovservation, if the PV requires any additional parameters, it can be VERY difficult to enter a PV property that works.
The final difficulty is that SL will probably not let you alter the PV property in a customization unless it is on a control that your screen has created.
