    Hi

Yes you can you would need to set the security permission so that people can or can not see emails, look at business units and look and the level ofsecurity on the email activity

    Hi Alistair,

I had the same question about hiding emails. My main concern is that users can see other users emails. Since emails are tracked in history, I unchecked the ability to read Activities, but then that turns off the ability to read all Activities for all Contacts. Help! I didn't see where I could edit just email viewing priviledges.

    Thanks,
    Kaliko

    Hi,

In standard Microsoft Dynamics CRM, the security on e-mails (and other activities) are based on the record they are related to (like an account or contact). This is set up in the cascading rules on the relationship between the related entity (account/contact) and the activity and can be changed. I suggest not to change it, when you do not oversee the impact.

You could say it is impossible to hide just one (or a few) emails tracked on an account/contact. Maybe you should consider not to track these messages in CRM? The security model of CRM is based on sharing information...not hiding information.

An quite easy approach would be to create a new entity "Trusted information", relate this entity to accounts/contact (and wherever needed). Track emails regarding the new entity. Now you can apply security on the trusted information entity.

    Good luck,

    Sander Daudey.
