Hi,

I found some articles mentioning having a manual GUID is not good. Given are the links as well. The link is quite old and seems applicable for on-premise setup.

We found that the articles you mentioned are outdated and specific to Dynamics CRM 2016 and may not be directly applicable to the latest versions of Dynamic 365 and Dataverse.

Actually, in Dataverse, GUIDs are still used as primary keys for records. They provide a unique identifier for each record in the database, allowing for reliable data retrieval and manipulation. Manually assigning GUIDs is usually not recommended, as it can lead to conflicts and potential data integrity issues.

DataVerse typically generates GUIDs automatically when a new record is created. this ensures uniqueness and avoids the need for manual intervention. System-generated GUIDs are intended to remain unique throughout the DataVerse environment.
