Incorrect item description

Posted on by 127
Hello,
when we were about to post our put-away, we noticed that the item description was incorrect and checked back also noticed that this was not correct on the warehouse receipt either. It has since been manually corrected on the PO.
Do we need to reverse both the warehouse and Putaway receipts? Can we use a config update?
Many thanks

Thanks for your answers although it is not strictly true that it is irrelevant; in an industry that is subject to stringent regulatory requirements and the need for strict systems compliance any differences between the description on the item and its subsequent description as it moves through the systems lifecycle can be open to audit scrutiny.

I totally agree with Ben here.
This is the kind of data that does not need to be 100% correct. They will not really effect the use of the system or your reporting in any important way.

This is likely a non-issue.  The Warehouse Entries generally won't have the Item Description on them.  The Posted Warehouse Receipt will have it on the line, but I doubt you're going to look for the Description of the Item from there.  If you're worried about reporting, have the system pull the Description from the Item Card.  I love pristine data, but the reality is it isn't sustainable.  People are going to make mistakes and this one is small compared to other mistakes that can happen.
