I am trying to understand how standard reports may be modified in Business Central. I see where I can go to the Report Layout screen and call up Custom Layouts, however if I try to export a format to Word it comes up blank. Is there a step that I may be missing? Please advise. Thank you.

To modify a report (dataset modifications) you need to create a new report (there's not a reportextension object). For layouts, you can check here:

docs.microsoft.com/.../ui-how-change-layout-currently-used-report
