Use of CBA and non-CBA Application Servers to the same CRM Organisation

For performance reasons, we would like to be able to connect to an IFD configured instance of CRM2016 On-premise from an internal Scribe server without using Claims Based Authentication via ADFS.

Does anyone know if it is possible to run a separate non-CBA / non-IFD application server internally on the same CRM 2016 instance to the same Organisation when the main application server is setup for IFD?
