Labels for Fixed Assets

Hi:

The end user wants to track QR codes and know where their assets are located at any given time.

“Counting” of the fixed assets is not really on the horizon.

In fact, all they’re doing with fixed assets is tracking.  They’re not even going to be posting data from that module to the G/L.

In those circumstances, is there a solution out there that will generate such labels for tracking purposes even if it means purchasing a third-party add-on?

Thanks!

John

    Hi,

Create a QR label must be not a problem.  In fact, time ago, from an old version, I use an external application to create the label for the automotive group Volkswagen.

Nowadays, you can generate the QR label directly from Business Central:

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/dev-itpro/developer/devenv-report-barcode-fonts

You can use directly this barcode fonts, to generate the label with a lot of information.

    Thank you!

But, is there not the possibility of conducting this effort outside of development or at best with using a third-party application?

    Hi,

As Roberto mentioned, you can generate the QRCode, but in that you that you have provide the FA data to be printed, and it should be in inside BC or search if the inbuilt app can help you.

Go to Extension Management > Marketplace and search the APP QR Code Generator.

The QR Generator, unfortunately, only works with UK instances.

    Thank you, though.  :)
