MS GP SOP Price Change Override

I know that we can restrict users from changing prices in the SOP process.  But looking for an option similar to credit limit override, where a password would be required to override the defaulted price in the order before transfer to invoice or to change the default price on an invoice?  Do not want to completely restrict price changes, someone with authority should be able to override the price with a password during the SOP entry process when needed.  Anyone have any ideas?  Is this available in the GP 2013 upgrade? WE are using GP2010 R2 now.

Thanks

Aprille, there is an option to require a password for price override in the SOP setup window. If this is not what you're looking for then you can add some VBA or Dex Code behind this window to accomplish this. Also a third party app may be available.

    Hi,

The first thing that comes to mind is the checkbox on the SOP Setup Options window where you can require a password if somebody tries to override a price. You could also try Field-level security. You could set a password on that field so that it could not be clicked in without a password. What might be kind of a pain is that the password dialog would come up if you just tabbed through the fields, but you can click cancel and it will go away. You would need to set security on the extended price field too because you can use that field to change the unit price.  You could also use VBA that would respond only if they were trying to change the field. It's a pretty easy script, so you don't have to be a big time programmer to set that up. Of course, you can always use Dexterity, but more programming skills are required.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

    Aprille,

I'm sorry, I didn't see that you had already answered the question. I should be more attentive.

    Kind regards,
