Can we install CRM Async Service separately on a server?

Hello,

I know we can have CRM Front-End Servers and Back-End server roles. Question is, can we break the back-end roles further, such that we install Asynchronous Processing Service on a separate 2 servers and  install the remaining 2 back-end role services (Email Integration Service & Sandbox Processing Service) together on separate servers. Such as below

  1. CRM Front End 1
  2. CRM Front End 2
  3. CRM Back End - Async Service Server 1
  4. CRM Back End - Async Service Server 2
  5. CRM Back End - Email & Sandbox 1
  6. CRM Back End - Email & Sandbox 2

Is this configuration supported? Also, will it be an efficient configuration to make sure the running workflows and the SDK calls doesn't hurt the CRM back-office business operations?

Thanks,

Version: Dynamics CRM 365 On-premise

You can install the CRM Async Service separately from the other back end roles. However, I'm wary about installing the same server role (e.g. Async Service) on more than one server as I'm not certain that this will robustly run any individual job on only one instance

I don't think its possible with step 5 and 6,  Sandbox 1, sandbox 2   as sandbox 1 , sandbox 2 services require async server.

I guess the only way to find out is to try installing in the same manner. I am deferring it for now till we do the installation on the UAT environment. I will check and update the thread once done.
