Hi Everyone,

Good day.

I am trying to reverse an entry from FA Ledger entry with FA Posting Type 'Salvage Value'. An user has wrongly posted it so I want to reverse it.

When I try to reverse the transaction, I get below error message.

Error Message:
You cannot undo the FA Ledger Entry No. 1556 by using the Reverse Transaction function because Depreciation Book DEFAULT does not have the appropriate G/L integration setup.

Please assist me on this.

Thanks.

You should use the "Cancel entries" button for FA Ledger entries, instead of "Reverse Transaction" button.
If FA was sold or disposed of, then the last action creates several FA Ledger entries with different FA Posting Type, and when pressing the Cancel entries button, it will show an error, on which line You have to stand.

After You press Cancel entries, go to the Fixed Asset G/L Journal (or Fixed Asset Journal if no G/L integration is active) and post the line that was created by system.

you need to make sure if the depreciation book to ensure the integrations are correctly setup in your case. Then you need to know the difference between cancel vs reverse.

The important difference between the two is that the Reverse Transaction option posts an opposite sign in the Fixed Asset Ledger entry table whilst Cancel Entries moves the incorrect ledger entries in the FA Error Ledger.

with above finding, you could decide which method to use.

KasparsSemjonovs is correct, you simply need to use the Cancel entries function. Reverse transaction will not work to reverse entries with the FA Posting Type Salvage Value. Here is a blog post that describes how to use it Cancel entries -   https://community.dynamics.com/blogs/post/?postid=6f2d4c0e-ccd4-4b05-b24c-77493d9c1ae7

The error is somewhat misleading, this is unrelated to GL integration in the FA Setup. You can turn on or off GL integration in the FA setup and you will still get this error message.
