New 2015 Licence Levels

Hi,

I know about this two sites:

yellowduckguy.wordpress.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-crm-feature-list-breakdown-by-professional-basic-and-essential-cal

www.zero2ten.com/.../microsoft-dynamics-crm-2013-license-rights-explained

My question is regarding essentials licence, if we need a user that doesnt need to login in the system but in crm has to have accounts that are asociated to him ( he is the owner ). Can we do that with essentials licence instead of with basic licence?

Thanks for answers in advance

    Hello Davor,

You could even assign those (max. 5) users no license at all. You'll need to set them to be a non-interactive user.

See my blog for details on this:

    Good luck,

Do you use 'Accounts' to store data about customers/potential customers?  If so then Essentials licenses are not appropriate.

    Other Licensing Options:

    1. Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online allows for five free non-interactive users.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../gg328485.aspx

    2. Otherwise, my understanding is that if 'Accounts' holds data about your  'customers/clients' then you need at least Basic licence for every additional person loaded as a 'User' in the system.  The Microsoft rules are very clear on that.

    3. Given they won't actually be a 'User' at worst you could perhaps set them each up as a 'Team' instead of a 'User' (given that you're only needing to hold their details for record ownership rather than actual access, and 'Teams' can own records).  But that might be considered contrary to the spirit of the licensing arrangements.  www.microsoft.com/.../resource-library.aspx;SortField2=Licensing

    4. If you were on-premise you'd have the option of device-level licences which work well if you have groups of people like you're talking about.  However that option is not available Online.
