SMTP connector plain text authentication

Hi,
I recently had to change our mail server settings to conform to the new PCI standards and scans.
I had to disable plain text authentication so the password is always encrypted on the SMTP mail server..

This is not an issue with most modern mail clients (there is normally an option for normal, encrypted, NTLM authentication methods) but I can not see any settings in the SMTP connector to set the an encrypted password.
Can I assume then that basic auth uses a plain text password?
I have the same question (0)

Yes, in the context of SMTP connectors, basic authentication typically transmits credentials (username and password) in plain text unless it is specifically secured by using TLS/SSL.

    You can use auth2.0.
