How to Identify Customer Accounts from Accounts Created from Qualifying a Lead

Hi,

We have a list of 'Accounts' within Dynamics which includes our existing customers, but the list also includes 'Accounts' that were automatically created when qualifying a lead (these 'Accounts' may still be in quote stage and are not customers yet).

We can't seem to create a list of actual customers on the 'Account' views (on the sales app), as there does not seem to be a method of filtering these into actual customers.

We also want to send out a bulk email to all existing customers (through the marketing app), but it is currently using the entire list of accounts, which would send a customer email to the list of existing customers and automatically generated 'Accounts' that were created when qualifying a lead.

Is there a field on the account form that we're missing, to say whether an 'Account' is a customer or not?

Can anyone advise please?

Thanks,

CP

    Hello,

There is a field called "Relationship Type" where you might define the type of relationship with the customer - either it's an existing customer or the prospect but in order to use that field, you will have to update the existing data.

In order to identify if the account was converted from the lead, you can check the "Originating Lead" field.

    Hi Cnpeps,

As Andrew said, you need use 'Originating Lead' lookup field as filter to check accounts.

There is one 1:N relationship between Lead and Account, so one  lookup field named 'Originating Lead' in the Account entity:

Originating Lead: Shows the lead that the account was created from if the account was created by converting a lead in Microsoft Dynamics 365. This is used to relate the account to data on the originating lead for use in reporting and analytics.

Then you can create one new Account view with  'Originating Lead' not contain data as filter:

Then you can get a list of accounts that do not include those that are automatically created when qualifying a lead,.
