Multiple Option Selection

I'm trying to create a new field that allows users to select multiple options w/in one field.  For example - I want to add a field that identifies which of our products compete with that of a competitor, in some instances there can be multiple products that compete - I want to be able to identify in one field all of the products.

I did find a post from about a year ago that indicated this wasn't possible w/out it requiring a ton of Java scripting, but was wondering if this had been resolved since then.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

As suggested by Ben, there is no out of box feature for now to achieve multiselect list.

But I will say multiselect internally a 1:N relationship.

You can implement this by customizing your form as per below link.

    For CRM 2011/2013

    For CRM 2013

You can also use a fully supported method that is demonstrated in the following page (see the link at the bottom). Basically it allows you first to populate a list of items using a new custom entity and then adding it to your target entity allowing the user to select items from the list and populate a subgrid, hence multiple selection of items. Pretty clean solution and, as the writer claims, it is "future proof" since it uses only OOB features in CRM 2013. Here is the link:

    RE: Multiple Option Selection

There is a managed solution that converts picklist into multiselect checkbox where it allows you to select more than one value . This is 100 % supported customization .

Here is the link that provides all the steps required and at the end there is a link to download managed solution

The bad news is, you can do it without customization and Javascript.

Maybe you could do it with a custom entity with the various options on and then have it as a lookup on the form.
