New to MR - Modifying an existing report

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 55

Our CFO, who is an experienced FRx user but new to Management Reporter needs to know how to take an existing MR report.  Save it as another name and then modify it.  Can someone point me to, or give some guidance here, the steps or directions on this process.  He is referencing that he was simply able to 'Save As' the report in FRx.  (I just wanted to provide some framework and context).  Thanks!

A report in management reporter is a combination of row definition and column definition. Both of them are excel-based, so he could simply copy the whole content of the column or the row definition and paste them into a new column or row definition.

Let him click new on report definition to create a new report and pick the new column and row definitions created in the step above. Now, he is free to manipulate the new report without affecting the original one.

    Your feedback is highly appreciated,

As Mohammed stated, and just like FRx the report is a combination of a row, column and possibly a tree.  If he wanted to use an existing report although you can do a save as and make a new report name you would still be manipulating the row and column being used in the first report, so you need to go to the row and column and do a save as on the row and then the column and rename them and add to your new report.  Then go play to your hearts content and not mess with the original report
