Hi I have an issue with AA table AAG30003 its displaying 264 records for all the dimensions except aaTrxDimID=4 (below) thats displaying 258 records. This is affecting my reports in someway.

SELECT*FROM AAG30003 WHERE aaTrxDimID=4.

Now my question is,should I run checklinks? or insert the purported missing information? whats is the probable cause of this?.

    Hello again RomRyan

That's not an indicator of something wrong until further troubleshooting is made. You do need to consider the following tables in order to ensure if there are any corrupted records. As part of a previous project I have worked on, I considered the database structure as related to the AA tables, see below:

Take into consideration the following rules of thumb:

    • In AAG30000, AAG30001 and AAG30002, each journal entry (regardless of the fact that it does has analytical accounting details or not), will have a corresponding aaGLHDRID. This means, as a quality check, the number of distinct aaGLHDRID in each of these three tables should equal the number of all journal entries in GL20000.
    • AAG30003 has the journals which only have analytical accounting details. That means, the number of aaGLHDRID in this table is not necessarily the same as the three tables in point (1)

If you do have a problem, and reached a finding that there are definitely corrupted records which don't meet the rules above, the first step to start with is the Analytical Accounting Checklinks (Microsoft Dynamics GP > Maintenance > Analytical Accounting Check Links)

As for the SQL on the back end, it is not an applicable solution in case there are missing records due to a very simple fact, how would you determine the dimension and codes associated with these specific journal entries !

Looking forward to hearing from you ,

    RE: AA

    Mahmoud,

I have designed a report that is missing some details due to nulls associated to particular expense, when i went to query level....and changed inner join to right join,I could pick the expense but all other columns were nulls. When I looked at my all my 8 dimensions its they had 264 rows, while dimension 4 had 258.The nulls were 6 rows meaning they will add up to 264.When I went further deeper I found that the difference in originating from AAG30003.Due to the missing aaGLHdrID,aaGLDistID and aaGLAssignID on the 8 records my report displays null in that expense.

I have tried to run checklinks on my gp (version 11.00.2197) but I could not see AA after selecting the financial option but on gp (version 11.00.1524) an able to run check links.

    RomRyan.

    RE: AA

Here is the AA check links, it is not under the financial series.

    Important Note:

Please read carefully what I posted on the other thread you created regarding the damage that Check links may cause GP 2010 version 11.00.2197 AA?

Back up is a must !!
