When adding a date field (date only, not date/time) in an email template, it adds the time rider (00:00). Anyone know how to get rid of this?

Are you selecting date field from any entity record ? If so change the customization of the field to "Date Only" that should resolve this issue.
Nope...as in post Date only field, not Date/Time field
what you can do is keep one additional field in the entity to keep date only value in string format , you can do this using Business Rule .
In the business rule format the date the way you want it and store it in the new field and use this field in the email template to populate date
Hey Chritra, thanks for the tip. How do I format the date in the business rule? I cannot fill the new field directly from the old field as they have different formats.

{!<entityLogicalName>:<LogicalNameAttribute>/@date;""} for date
