Account Statements - Outstanding amounts as opposed to transaction log?

I am hoping someone has the same issue as me when trying to create a statement templates.

Possibly from using Sage 200 a statement is something they do quite differently. However with Business Central a statement is more of a transaction log of all of the in/out of your account - I guess much like a bank statement so I can see why it makes sense.

Without getting into a discussion of what a statement should or shouldn't look like. I could really do with sending something like the below to our customers once a month to show the outstanding invoices that need paying on their accounts.

In simple terms using the example below - we need to send this customer an email to say you have £319.24 outstanding and it relates to this Invoice(s)

How would I achieve this?

    Hi Josh

    I'm interested in understanding how to do this too.

    Are we able to get 15 mins on a Team chat?

    I just wanted to say that this was all sorted by Josh and he created a small extension for me that created a new statement template with the this rule on, in addition to this it outputted the account balance and account number which was really helpful when making the template in Word.

    Hats off to him as I messaged him directly and he said he would do the work for me free of charge as it wasn't in the spirit of the forum.

    This actually made an opening for us to discuss the opportunity of Xpedition (the company he works for) becoming our partner. They have done "a day in the life of" today to run through our processes to highlight what can be done and I am so impressed with their knowledge and understanding of our business (retail distribution) and Business Central.

    It really does go to show there are good guys out there.  I had just completely lost faith with our current partner, as any issue highlighted was them rubbing their hands together quoting us days for simple projects that should be done in a few hours.

    Thanks again Josh, a great asset to the community!

    The modification is at report object level. Something your partner can help with if you cannot get access to a copy of the .AL file.

    Thank you this is so helpful.

    For one of our accounts that are really bad payers that works perfectly as all of the amounts are overdue so they all show up. However with a more normal account the overdue does not show unless its overdue (obviously) so it's nearly there.

    Really I need to make that overdue band show all open invoices and that will work perfect.

    That modification you say - is that possible in Word? or would I have to use the RDLC layout?

    Top 5 rows of the table. The leftovers will just show what is due.

    If you want to show only "Open" transactions then a modification to the report can achieve this. It would mean keeping the top 5 rows.

    Add to OnAfterGetRecord Trigger of the Customer Ledger Entries

    //>>

    IF("Remaining Amount" = 0) THEN

     CurrReport.SKIP;

    //<<

    Hi Josh, thanks for your reply. So this is the body part of the one we are using.

    At the moment this gives us a full transaction log. Just to make it output the outstanding amount what parts am I looking at to remove/replace?

    I'm with you on how a business statement should look.

    I like using report 1316 in this scenario. It has a built in word layout so it's to pick up and tweak. The best part is it has a separate word table for the part that's like a personal bank account statement. So simply delete that table on a new custom report layout and ensure users toggle the show overdue entries switch on the report request page.
