How an user from sales order processor team knows that the ordered item is received?

Hi Everyone,

In Business Central, I have created a purchase order against a sales order via requisition worksheet. Later the requested item is received at the location and how will the user know that the items are arrived and can be shipped?

Do we have any functionality BC to notify the users or any indication on the corresponding sales order shows that the items are available for shipment?

Please confirm.

Thanks

    Hello,

In standard Business Central, there is no automatic notification or visual indication on the Sales Order that linked Purchase Order items have been received and are now available for shipment. Users must manually monitor inventory availability or use the Available to Promise (ATP) feature to check item availability. To improve this, a customization is recommended such as triggering a notification or updating a custom field/status on the Sales Order when the corresponding Purchase Order is fully received.

Hope this answer will help you!

    Hi Revan

BC doesn’t automatically notify the sales order processor when items are received, but there are a few ways to make it easier for them to know when it’s time to ship

Here’s what you can look into
    • On the Sales Order page, check the Qty. to Ship field—it updates once the items are received and available
    • You can use the Available to Promise (ATP) feature to see when items are expected to be available for shipment
    • If you want to automate notifications, you can set up a Power Automate flow that triggers when a purchase receipt is posted and sends an alert to the sales team
    • Some teams also use custom notifications or cues on the Role Center to highlight orders ready for shipment

This article explains how smart notifications work and how to customize them Work With Smart Notifications - Business Central

    Hello,

The request would be that you are notified or that the products cannot be used, i.e. they are reserved?

    I hope I can help.

As far as I know this needs to be customized, whether it is sending emails, or sending internal notifications.

Or you can try Power Automate.
