Aging (Receivables)

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi,

I'm using GP for the first time and I have a lot of questions, but right now I need to do an Aging ONLY for 2015. I went to Sales/Reports/Trial Balance w/Options. I put 1/01/15-12/31/15 as a range and it's showing 2016 invoices. Am I missing something here?

Thanks,

Awilda

Thank you, but I still having issues with this. I went to Sales/Reports/Trial Balance/Historical Aged Trial Balance, but there are some options and I believed that someone put them there. Monthly AR, Monthly BDS and Todays Historical.  I don't know what's the right one.  I choose Todays Historical for 2015 and the report is in a Summary. Any thoughts?

    Hello Awilda,

    Welcome to Great Plains!

You can use the Historical Aged Trial Balance at any time. This report will show you the results for a specific date. The Aged Trail Balance only shows results as of right now.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions on this.

The Historical Aged Trail Balance( aka HATB) is date sensitive and is to be used for all aging reports for prior periods. It is irrelevant to this report as to whether or not the prior year or years are closed. It will build temporary tables and then report off these tables. As your data grows this report can put quite a drag on your server so run with caution, especially if your users start to complain about a sluggish response.

Thank you for your quick response. One more question I need to use the Historical even when 2015 is open? I'm trying to close it.

You need to run the Historical Aged Trail Balance report if you want to an aging from a prior period.
