I am going to copy down Prod to UAT (including all data and customizations), what do I need to do in UAT so that emails wont be sent to users?

I still want the workflows/flows to run so that it shows up in the timeline of the record, I just don't want the end users to get the email from the UAT environment.

Thank you.

D365 consists of many applications, such as Finance & Operations, Sales or Business Central. You're asking in D365 general forum, therefore it's not clear which product you have in mind. Please add this information.

    Hi,

Your request to migrate a Prod database to a UAT database is supported.

According to Microsoft's official documentation, when you refresh a database in a UAT environment using Prod environment data, certain elements in the database are not copied to the target environment during the refresh operation. One of these elements is the e-mail addresses in the /LogisticsElectronicAddress / table. Based on this information we guess that after the refresh operation, the e-mail addresses in the production environment will not appear in the UAT environment and no e-mails will be sent to the users.

In addition, the documentation mentions that it is also possible to disable the SMTP relay server in the /SysEmailParameters/ table to prevent e-mail from being sent from the UAT environment.

If you need more information on "Refreshing the Database", please refer to the documentation at the link below.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,
