Error in Updating Plugin Assembly

Hi,

My plugin has already been registered through Plugin Registration tool. I am getting this error on updating plugin:

"Plug-in assembly does not contain the required types or assembly content cannot be updated". I verified for the changes too.

Can you please suggest why this happens though there is no change in class name, or version details.

Thanks!

    Hi There,

this error generally comes when the assembly or its contents what you are trying to register again is different.

What i would recommend is Unregister the assembly ( remeber the steps/images & filtered attributes registered) --> register your assembly again and add plugin steps/images etc again.

If you have version controlling as in using TFS/VS for check ins. You get the correct version of assembly and restore it -- >register it and then build on top of that.

Where do you maintain your code ? Do you have any version control like TFS , SVN? You can do the view history from that or you can ask developer what changes did during this period.

This issue generally comes when any mismatch of your plugin classes or steps  which exists in CRM but does not have in your plugin classes.

In addition you can also try to compare the assemble using XRMToolBox plugins called -
